NCTE Forms Panels to Amend Teacher Recruitment Rules for ITEP Graduates
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has established two expert committees to revise teacher recruitment qualifications and eligibility for the Central and State Teacher Eligibility Tests (CTET/STET). This change will allow graduates of the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), launched in 2023-24, to qualify for teaching jobs. The first ITEP batch will graduate in 2027, aligning with NEP 2020's goal of making the four-year degree the minimum teaching qualification by 2030.
