NCLT Declares Videocon's Venugopal Dhoot Bankrupt Over ₹12,668 Crore SBI Dues

The Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) declared former Videocon promoter Venugopal Nandlal Dhoot bankrupt following a petition by State Bank of India over ₹12,668 crore dues. A Bankruptcy Trustee was appointed to manage the process. Dhoot had given personal guarantees for loans taken by Videocon from SBI and merged banks. His assets will be divided among creditors, and he must submit a financial statement within seven days.
