NASA Tests Mars Helicopter Rotor Blades Beyond Mach 1
NASA has successfully tested next-generation Mars helicopter rotor blades that spin beyond Mach 1, reaching Mach 1.08. These supersonic rotor blades are designed to increase lift by 30 percent and will be used in the SkyFall project, a Martian helicopter intended to carry instruments and sensors for future human and robotic missions on Mars.
