ScienceNASA Plans to Fly SR-71 Blackbird Spy Jet Again
NASA is considering returning the retired SR-71A Blackbird spy plane to flight after nearly 27 years. The agency has contacted former engineers, including Mike Relja, to assist with the project. The specific aircraft involved is SR-71A Tail No. 844, currently housed at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center in California. The plane was recently moved from display into a hangar previously used for the Space Shuttle.
