In Nandigram, former Medinipur, the bypoll on Tuesday witnessed long queues of voters from early morning at polling stations. By 1 PM, 60.32% turnout was recorded, with 20.89% by 9 AM and 43.95% by 11 AM. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari voted peacefully at Nandanayakbar Primary School, arriving by e-rickshaw. The bypoll was necessitated after Adhikari retained Bhabanipur seat in 2026 assembly elections.
