Nana Patekar Served in Kargil War After Training with Army

In 1999, actor Nana Patekar wished to join the Kargil War despite being busy with a film shoot. After initially being denied permission by then Defence Minister George Fernandes, he was allowed to serve once Fernandes learned Nana had trained with the army for six months during his film 'Prahaar'. Nana served 60 days in the Territorial Army, participating in sectors like Shopian, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Dras, even losing weight during service.
