Nafed to Supply India Rice in Army Canteens from October 12

Nafed, after establishing a strong consumer base, will supply India brand rice in all army canteens nationwide starting October 12. Currently supplying about 35,000 tons of pulses annually to the Army's Canteen Stores Department, Nafed will now also provide rice, estimated at 30,000 tons yearly. Nafed will collaborate with FCI to procure paddy and rice directly from farmers and open markets. Additionally, CEA Anant Nageshwaran suggested RBI reconsider NPA classification rules for MSMEs.
