Mulki lacks underground drainage, polluting Shambhavi river

In Mulki Town Panchayat, over 4,500 houses, 12 commercial complexes, hotels, and 15 apartment blocks lack an underground drainage (UGD) system. Raw sewage from these buildings is polluting the Shambhavi river and causing a foul smell along the highway from Mulki bus stand to Bappanadu temple. The Mulki Town Panchayat plans to build a scientific UGD system with a sewage treatment plant, requiring about Rs 100 crore.
