Most-Wanted Maoist Couple Surrenders in Kolkata, Hands Over AK-47 and INSAS Rifle

Maoist couple Mangal and Malti, wanted in West Bengal and Jharkhand, surrendered on October 23 at Kolkata Police Headquarters before Commissioner Ajay K. Nand. They handed over an AK-47 and an INSAS rifle. Both had bounties totaling seven lakh rupees. Under pressure from security forces, they decided to abandon violence and reintegrate into society. Mangal is from Salboni, West Medinipur, and Malti from Gopiballavpur, Jhargram.
