Molestation continues to be the most reported crime against women in Karnataka, with 6,490 cases in 2023, 6,335 in 2024, and 5,843 in 2025. From January to August 2026, 4,262 cases were registered. Deputy Inspector General Savitha S cited patriarchal social structures, economic dependence, weak law enforcement, and digital anonymity as key factors. Cruelty by husbands and dowry-related violence also remain significant issues.
