Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced the state's goal to contribute one per cent to India's GDP by 2047, aligning with the country's centenary of independence. He also stated that the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) plans to contest the 2028 Assembly elections independently, without joining major alliances. Mizoram currently hosts around 40,000 displaced people from Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Manipur, which the CM described as a burden, hoping they return once the geopolitical situation improves.
