BusinessMicrosoft: 80% of H1-B Applications Are for Existing Employees
Microsoft stated that 80% of the 6,000 H1-B visa applications it submitted last fiscal year were for extending or changing the status of existing employees, not for hiring new ones. This came after US Vice President J D Vance suspended Microsoft from a green card program, accusing it of system abuse. Microsoft emphasized its commitment to American workers and said only 1% of its US workforce were new hires already legally in the country.
