Michigan Barn Doorstop Rock Identified as New Iron Meteorite
A 10.22-kg rock used as a barn doorstop on a Michigan farm since 1939 was identified as a new IIIAB iron meteorite. The rock's true nature was discovered in 2018 after another meteorite fall. Central Michigan University analyzed the specimen, highlighting the importance of personal meteorite samples in scientific research.
