Delhi University Plans Rs 8,000 Crore Hostels for 30,000+ Students

Delhi University is planning an Rs 8,000-crore project to build new hostels and redevelop existing ones to accommodate over 30,000 students. The proposals include new hostels at Dhaka Complex, Najafgarh, and Surajmal Vihar, plus reconstruction of Jubilee Hall, Postgraduate Men's Hostel, and International Student House. Rs 5,157 crore is for new buildings, and nearly Rs 3,000 crore for redevelopment. The Dhaka Complex will have two Y-shaped hostels for 4,836 students each, costing Rs 1,130 crore each.
