Meta launches AI tools to fight child exploitation on Facebook, Instagram

Meta has introduced new AI tools and enhanced ad review systems to detect and disrupt child sexual exploitation on Facebook and Instagram. From January to June 2026, Meta took action on 5.3 million pieces of such content in India, identifying over 98% proactively. Globally, 33.2 million pieces were addressed with more than 97% detected proactively. The company targets predators using ads to evade detection and directs users to illegal content outside its platforms.
