Meta Apologizes for Mistaken Suspension of No Kings Coalition Instagram
Meta Platforms mistakenly suspended the Instagram account of No Kings Coalition, a pro-democracy group leading nationwide protests, during a demonstration focused on early voter turnout. The account was down for several hours, raising censorship concerns. Meta explained that an automated security system was triggered by unusual activity from an AI tool accessing profiles and hashtags at four times the normal rate, and apologized for the disruption ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
