Mekedatu Project Foundation to Begin by March, Says Minister

Water Resources Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy announced that the Mekedatu project, aimed at resolving the Cauvery River water sharing dispute, is nearly ready with its detailed project report 99% complete. The foundation stone is planned for March next year. The project includes alternative land allocation for forest areas affected and will support Bengaluru's 6th phase drinking water scheme. The minister also noted reduced water release to Tamil Nadu this year amid drought conditions in Karnataka.

New BMTC Bus Stops Added at Cubbon Park and Tavarekere Metro Stations

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced new BMTC bus stops at Cubbon Park and Tavarekere metro stations starting October 6. At Cubbon Park on the Purple Line, stops are near entrances B and C for buses traveling towards Shanthinagar and Raj Bhavan. Tavarekere on the upcoming Pink Line has stops for buses between Dairy Circle, Bannerghatta, and Jayadeva Hospital. The stops were added after joint inspection by BMRCL and BMTC.
