PoliticsMeghalaya HC Issues Contempt Notices to Bar Leaders Over Judicial Boycott
The Meghalaya High Court issued criminal contempt notices to leaders of the Shillong Bar Association and the High Court of Meghalaya Bar Association for calling a boycott of judicial work. The boycott, demanding the removal of Advocate General Amit Kumar, disrupted court proceedings and left litigants unrepresented except in Baghmara. The leaders must appear in court on October 13.
