Medieval Christian Monastery Found on Scottish Island Lismore
Archaeological excavations on Lismore, a small Scottish island with about 190 residents, revealed a medieval cemetery, ancient buildings, and over 1,000 metalworking artefacts. Funded by local residents, the findings indicate Lismore was a significant religious and craft centre in the sixth and seventh centuries, offering new insights into early Christianity in northern Britain.
