Medicinal and Rare Western Ghats Plants Displayed at Siri Sasyotsava

The three-day Siri Sasyotsava at Kadri Park, Mangaluru, showcased medicinal, flowering, fruit-bearing, vegetable saplings, and endangered Western Ghats plant species. Elizabeth displayed orchids like Oncidium and Phalaenopsis, cultivated commercially for 30 years. Plant taxonomist Dr. Rashmi K exhibited pitcher plants and rare species including Blyxa mangalensis, an aquatic plant discovered in Mangaluru, to raise conservation awareness.
