Mazagon Dock Plans ₹20,000 Crore Shipbuilding Hubs in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (MDL), a state-run defence PSU, is seeking equity partners for proposed ₹20,000 crore shipbuilding clusters at Dighi, Maharashtra, and Dugarajapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. MDL signed MoUs worth ₹30,000 crore with both state governments and aims to secure approvals by December. The clusters will support 1.2 million gross tonnage annually, with phased execution starting at 500,000 GT capacity. MDL plans a joint venture with the Maritime Investment Fund, each holding 50% stake.
