Mauritius has extended its island-wide curfew for two more nights following riots and looting sparked by protests over water shortages and rising living costs. The curfew will be in effect from 8:30 pm to 5 am on Wednesday and Thursday across major population centers. Schools remain closed this week except for students taking international exams. Since the unrest began, 94 arrests have been made, and authorities say the situation is under control.
