Masdar to Acquire 550 MW Solar Project in Greece by 2026

Masdar, a UAE-based renewable energy company, has signed an agreement to acquire and develop a 550 MW solar photovoltaic project in Greece from Lightsource bp. The project is expected to be operational by the end of 2026 and will generate enough electricity for over 200,000 homes. Masdar plans to add battery storage and connect the project to Greece's transmission system via two substations. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and will expand Masdar's presence in southeastern Europe through TERNA ENERGY.
