West Asian Crude Oil Exports Surpass Pre-War Levels Amid Tanker Attacks
Crude oil exports from West Asia exceeded pre-war levels on four of the last seven days of September, reaching between 19.5 and 22.5 million barrels per day, according to Kpler data. Despite attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, exports averaged 18.5 million bpd by October 1, up from 18 million bpd before the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran began in early 2026.
