Mangaluru Man Loses Rs 1.78 Lakh in Cyber Fraud via Malicious App

A 44-year-old man in Mangaluru lost Rs 1,78,191 after downloading a malicious app called XM TV, which was advertised on social media as offering free TV channels. Unauthorized transfers of Rs 98,000 and Rs 50,000 occurred on October 16 and 17, respectively, along with Rs 30,191 transferred via UPI from another account. The fraud was discovered on October 18 and reported to police.
