Man Hacked to Death in Broad Daylight in Chennai

A 25-year-old man named Maithreyan was hacked to death around 11 am on October 27 in Chennai's Adyar. Recently released on bail in a ganja case, he was returning from Mylapore police station with his father when a three-member gang stopped their autorickshaw on Indira Nagar Main Road. Despite attempts to flee, Maithreyan was fatally attacked. A video shows accused Jeevanandham wielding a machete after the killing. Maithreyan was declared dead at a private hospital in Taramani, and his body was sent for postmortem at Royapettah Hospital. The accused are Jeevanandham (20), Surya (19), and Vignesh (19).
