From October 1, Maharashtra requires Aadhaar authentication for registering immovable property documents, covering 63 types including sale, purchase, mortgage, and partition deeds. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated no document will be registered without Aadhaar to prevent fraud. The move, directed by CM Devendra Fadnavis, aims to eliminate fake witnesses, reduce human intervention, and enhance transparency in property transactions.
