Maharashtra Imposes Weekly Water Cuts in Pune Amid Crisis
Maharashtra has introduced new water restrictions in Pune due to a deepening drought crisis. Starting October 15, Pune will face weekly water shutdowns every Thursday. The Pune Municipal Corporation plans to crack down on drinking water misuse and illegal connections, which will now attract criminal action. The measures include a borewell ban and aim to manage dwindling dam storage and worsening heatwave impacts.
