Maharashtra Govt Yet to Approve BMC's 570% Entertainment Tax Hike

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has proposed a 570% hike in entertainment tax for Mumbai's cinema halls and performing arts venues. However, the Maharashtra government has not yet approved this revision. BMC informed the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) that the new tax rates cannot be implemented until state government clearance is received.
