The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a statewide order tightening regulations on the manufacture, sale, labeling, and promotion of infant foods and milk substitutes. The order bans formula promotions and influencer advertising to protect breastfeeding practices and address health risks among children. Issued by Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, it unifies enforcement under the Food Safety and Standards Act and applies across the entire supply chain.
