Magnitude 6.1 Earthquake Hits Off Tokyo Coast, No Tsunami Alert

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck off the coast of Tokyo at 7:39 pm local time, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. The quake occurred at a depth of 40 km in the Kanto region's sea area. No tsunami alert was issued, and there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. India's National Centre for Seismology also recorded the tremor at 4:09 pm IST. Earlier, a 4.2 magnitude quake hit Nepal's Humla district in Karnali Province.
