Madras HC refuses to transfer Veeramani sexual assault case to CBI

The Madras High Court on Wednesday declined to transfer the investigation of the sexual assault case against granite baron R Veeramani under the POCSO Act to the CBI. The court stated the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by Tamil Nadu just four days ago should be given time to gather evidence. Veeramani and two aides were arrested on August 28 for allegedly raping minor girls.
