Madras HC dismisses Rs 4 crore cheating plea against ex-AIADMK minister Vijayabaskar

The Madras High Court on October 1 dismissed a petition seeking an FIR against former AIADMK minister C Vijayabaskar over an alleged Rs 4 crore cheating complaint. The complainant, Dhana Vimal, an AIADMK candidate for the 2026 Assembly elections from Alangudi, Pudukkottai, was allowed to pursue other legal remedies. A preliminary police inquiry found no grounds for FIR registration.
