Madras HC Allows Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi's Election Petition

The Madras High Court refused to reject the election petition filed by former Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi of DMK. The petition challenges the 2026 victory of TVK MLA Vijayakumar from Thiruverumbur Assembly constituency. Justice K. Kumaresh Babu ruled that allegations of using children in election campaigns, which violate Election Commission instructions, must be tested at trial. Vijayakumar won by 8,705 votes.
