M.A. Chidambaram Stadium Stands Named After Venkataraghavan, Srikkanth, Ashwin

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association decided to name three stands at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium after former players S. Venkataraghavan, K. Srikkanth, and R. Ashwin. The unveiling will occur before the Big Bash League opener on December 12. Venkataraghavan played 57 Tests and led India in the 1975 and 1979 ODI World Cups. Srikkanth contributed to two ODI World Cup wins in 1983 and 2011. Ashwin is India’s second-highest Test wicket-taker with 537 wickets and has played 106 Tests.
