In Lahore, Pakistan, LPG prices have surged since October 17 due to the closure of two Iranian border crossings, halting imports. Rashid Ali, a rickshaw driver, now earns only $3 a day, half his previous income of $6.50, forcing his family to cut meals. About 70% of 43,000 auto-rickshaws and 8,000 Qingqis run on LPG, called "the fuel of the poor" by union chairman Majeed Ghauri.
