Land Trust Buys $1.3M Property to Expand Buttermilk Falls Park Access
The Open Space Institute purchased a four-acre property for $1.3 million from the Margaret M. Rumsey Trust in Tompkins County, New York. This land, adjacent to Buttermilk Falls State Park, will be transferred to the New York State Office of Parks to enhance park access. The site includes a former bed-and-breakfast and will support improved parking, traffic flow, staff housing, and a new trailhead for the park's nearly 400,000 annual visitors.
