Kuki Man Killed, Houses Torched Amid Manipur Shutdown Over Meitei Killings

In Manipur's Kangpokpi district, a 45-year-old Kuki man, Paolen Khongsai, was killed by unidentified assailants during ethnic violence. Around six Kuki houses were set on fire in Ukhrul amid a shutdown protesting the killing of three Meiteis in Imphal East. The shutdown affected five Meitei-majority districts in Imphal Valley. Police are investigating and have warned residents to avoid forested areas due to armed men movements.
