PoliticsKSPCB Chief Demands Personal Approval for New Industries
Bengaluru: Shortly after his appointment as Chairman of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Anekal MLA B Shivanna mandated that all new industries require his personal approval before receiving permits. The KSPCB regulates industrial pollution through a Consent for Establishment and Consent for Operation process. Previously, decentralization allowed senior officers to approve smaller industries without the Chairman's direct involvement.
