Knife Attack at Israeli Embassy in Belgrade Leaves Guard Wounded

A knife-wielding attacker was shot dead by Serbian police after assaulting a guard outside the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade shortly after midnight on Wednesday. The assailant shouted "Allahu Akbar" before stabbing a Gendarmerie member with two knives. The guard suffered minor injuries. Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic called the police response an act of self-defense and raised the terror alert to the highest level.
