KKR plans to invest more than ₹6,000 crore in Gentari Renewable India Pte Ltd, the Indian renewable energy arm of Malaysia's Petronas. The investment aims to fund expansion of renewable and green hydrogen projects and reduce debt. KKR's investment may lead to future stake acquisition. The deal is under Competition Commission of India review. Gentari acquired a 1.6 GW renewable portfolio from Brookfield last year.
