Khaira Village in Chhattisgarh Achieves 100% Rooftop Solar Coverage

Khaira village in Rajnandgaon district, Chhattisgarh, has become the first village in India to achieve 100% rooftop solar coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. All 141 households, with a population of 889, received 2-kilowatt solar systems at no cost through central and state subsidies and CSR funding. The total installed capacity is about 282 kW, enabling net metering to reduce electricity bills.
