PoliticsKeralam orders vigilance probe against CEC Gyanesh Kumar over World Bank road project
Keralam's Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau began an inquiry on October 4 against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar related to the World Bank-funded Kerala State Transport Project. Kumar, a 1988-batch IAS officer, headed the Public Works Department when the road upgrade project was awarded and overseen. Allegations first arose in 2006, prompting a preliminary inquiry. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala ordered the probe after legal advice and consultation with CM VD Satheesan.
