Kerala to Phase Out Unnecessary Food Grain Warehouses

Kerala's Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob announced that only essential warehouses under the department and Supplyco will be retained, while others will be phased out. Currently, there are 177 NFSA warehouses and 56 Supplyco warehouses. Many warehouses are deemed unnecessary, lack scientific standards, and are in poor condition. The Commissioner has been asked to review and report on the matter to reduce food grain wastage.
