Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has ordered a detailed vigilance inquiry into alleged corruption by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during his 2006 tenure as PWD Secretary. The probe includes allegations linked to the suicide of Malaysian engineer Lee See Ben, involved in a Rs 215 crore World Bank-funded Kerala State Transport Project. The inquiry follows complaints of previous investigations being closed prematurely.
