Kerala PWD Minister P.K. Basheer informed the state assembly that a vigilance probe into corruption allegations in a two-decade-old road project is ongoing. The initial investigation by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) was launched due to inconsistencies in a 2006 VACB inquiry. The project caused a government loss of ₹700 crore. The project began in 2006 when CEC Gyanesh Kumar was PWD secretary.
