PoliticsKerala HC Supports Headmistress Wearing Churidar to School
The Kerala High Court ruled that attire is a citizen's personal choice and cannot be mandated to conform to societal customs without legal backing. Justice P.V. Kunhikrishnan heard a petition from the headmistress of Eeswara Vilasom High School, Kollam, who was denied entry by the school manager for wearing a churidar instead of a sari. The court ordered police protection for her and instructed authorities to ensure she can perform her duties without obstruction.
