Kerala HC orders transparency in Sabarimala Melsanthi selection

The Kerala High Court has directed transparent selection of new Melsanthis (head priests) for Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha and Malikappuram temples. Justice V.G. Arun will observe the interview process on October 5 at Travancore Devaswom Board, Thiruvananthapuram, and supervise the lot drawing at Sabarimala. There were 48 applications for Sabarimala and 30 for Malikappuram, with five and three shortlisted respectively. Appointments last one year from Vrischikam.
