Kerala Government Reconstitutes Waqf Board, Appoints Mayin Haji Chairman

The Kerala government has reconstituted the State Waqf Board, appointing IUML leader M C Mayin Haji as chairman. The previous board, led by K S Hamsa and formed in March, was dissolved less than seven months into its tenure. A new nine-member committee was formed despite over four years remaining. The decision comes amid a pending Kerala High Court petition by former chairman Hamsa.
