Kasimedu Fishermen to Strike Over Boats Held in Andhra Pradesh
Fishermen at Kasimedu fishing harbour have announced an indefinite strike demanding the state government retrieve seven boats held captive in Andhra Pradesh for over 100 days. The protest will start in about ten days after returning boats complete their long voyages. The decision was made by Kasimedu fishing stakeholders including boat owners, vendors, and workers, citing lack of financial assistance from the government.
